Cuidar de quem cuida!

E se fosse possível mudar o mundo através da capacitação pessoal e profissional dos educadores infantis e assim impactar positivamente a vida das crianças. Muito se fala do bem-estar das crianças, mas pouco se fala ou se cuida do bem-estar daqueles que passam horas, dias, semanas, anos a cuidar dessas mesmas crianças.

A criação do meu projecto foi motivada por uma inquietação que já persistia em mim há algum tempo, e partiu de observações e constatações de que sem um investimento contínuo na formação pessoal e profissional dos educadores a qualidade da educação de base fica comprometida.

O sector da educação infantil, para quem não tem consciência disso é muito exigente a todos os níveis e infelizmente muito desvalorizada. É comum ouvir-se comentários depreciativos acerca do árduo trabalho dos educadores ou pura e simplesmente reduzir todos os benefícios do BRINCAR a comentários como “os educadores só brincam nas creches”. Já dizia Maria Montessori, ‘Brincar é o trabalho das crianças’, pois ao brincar a criança aprende sobre o funcionamento do mundo e adquire competências que serão necessárias ao longo da vida. Os estudos da neurociência sobre o desenvolvimento cerebral nos primeiros anos de vida da criança comprovam os benefícios do Brincar no desenvolvimento integral da mesma. Igualmente sinalizam que é possível melhorar e potencializar o trabalho do educador voltando-o para o desenvolvimento e aprendizagem da criança através do brincar. Portanto, é perceptível que a exigência na qualidade dos educadores seja cada vez mais elevada, e consequentemente o investimento também deveria ser.

Para se exigir deve-se ter a clareza e consciência daquilo que se está a exigir, seja por já se ter estado naquela posição ou por se ter a sensibilidade para escutar aquilo que quem está no terreno têm a dizer. É incontestável que o capital humano só se desenvolve se houver um investimento bem pensado e estruturado, mas também é verdade que o receptor desse investimento deve ter a vontade de progredir e sair da sua zona de conforto.

Se pararmos para pensar sobre os desafios que a pandemia nos está a impor, as seguintes perguntas têm muitas hipóteses de surgir: que investimento será alocado para a formação contínua dos Educadores? Que apoios a nível emocional estão a receber? Que reflexões estão a ser promovidas sobre o futuro da educação infantil? Será a educação online viável para a primeira infância? Existirá um mercado para o sector da educação infantil depois da pandemia? Como estão os Pais a serem apoiados pelas instituições de ensino dos seus filhos?

Tenho participado de várias reflexões sobre o sector da educação infantil e as perguntas que guiam as discussões são todas com o intuito de encontrar soluções para a actual situação e prever o que poderá acontecer. Considero que é um exercício louvável, mas desgastante tentar prever o futuro. Sinto que esta crise pode ser uma oportunidade de repensar todo o sistema educativo e criar-se um currículo público centrado no aluno.

Durante essas reflexões foram expressas intranquilidades comuns a todos os intervenientes, ou seja, preocupação com os desafios enfrentados pelos educadores, crianças e as suas famílias, em particular as mais desfavorecidas. O ensino pré-escolar que já não era acessível a todas as famílias, embora necessária, agora possivelmente ficará ainda mais difícil de aceder.

Vale a pena referir que nestes últimos meses foi relegado para os Pais o papel de 'pedagogos' e muitos ficaram fragilizados por subitamente ocuparem um espaço que estava entregue aos educadores que confiavam. Como já sugeri por diversas vezes nas minhas sessões de consultoria, uma das soluções do momento é estreitarem a parceria escola-casa e aproveitarem para ‘formarem’ os pais em estratégias de como estimular a aprendizagem das crianças através da brincadeira.

Vamos ver como as instituições de ensino vão reagir aos novos desafios e como vão cuidar de quem cuida. O futuro não se consegue prever, mas as instituições educativas conseguem definir e escolher quais serão os seus próximos passos diários, como diz Robin Sharma “com maior consciência, conseguimos fazer melhores escolhas diárias, com melhores escolhas diárias, conseguimos ter melhores resultados diários.”

Depois de trabalhar durante vários anos numa escola de topo em Luanda, ficou preocupada com o desenvolvimento profissional dos educadores locais em toda Angola e como a sua falta de alta qualidade pedagógica estava a afetar as crianças sob os seus cuidados. Isto levou-a a agir para a mudança, criando um projeto educacional transformacional com um enfoque inicial na fundação de toda a educação - o Early Years Education.
