Valecia Sambo is the visionary founder of Daily Sambo Services, a South African-based company revolutionizing sustainable water solutions. With a proven track record as a seasoned entrepreneur, Valecia's business has been making waves in the industry since its inception in 2023. As a pioneering plumber, Valecia is breaking barriers in the male-dominated construction and plumbing sectors. Her commitment to empowering local communities is evident in her business, which employs seven individuals, including women from the surrounding areas.



LoA spoke to the pioneering founder, Valecia Sambo, about her entrepreneurial journey and her passion for empowering local communities through sustainable water solutions.

What does your company do?

Daily Sambo Services is a pioneering sustainable, eco-friendly water management business, dedicated to empowering communities and organisations to conserve water and reduce waste. Our services include

1. Backup Water Systems - Reliable, eco-friendly solutions ensuring uninterrupted water access.
2. Grey Water Systems - Efficient, sustainable technologies reusing water for irrigation and flushing.
3. Leak Repair Solutions - Expert detection and fixing to prevent water losses, reducing waste and conserving this precious resource.
4. Water-Saving Bathroom Renovations - Eco-friendly, sustainable designs and installations minimizing water consumption.

What inspired you to start your company?

What sparked the idea for Daily Sambo Services was my experience during my climbing qualification, where I was introduced to the entrepreneurship mindset by Allan Gray Makers. As I became more aware of the water scarcity challenges facing South Africa, I saw an opportunity to combine my passion for plumbing with my desire to make a positive impact. With my experience and qualifications in hand, I founded Daily Sambo Services with a clear mission: to empower communities by providing access to water and sanitation, promoting water conservation through leak repair and grey water systems, and creating job opportunities. My goal is to drive meaningful change and contribute to a more sustainable future, one plumbing solution at a time.

What makes your business, service or product special?

Daily Sambo Services stands out by combining technical expertise with a social conscience. We prioritize water conservation, empower local communities, and create jobs, making us a unique plumbing business that drives positive change while delivering exceptional service.

Tell us a little about your team

At Daily Sambo Services, our dynamic team is the backbone of our success. We're proud to have a diverse and skilled workforce, divided into two key areas: administration and on-site plumbing services. Our admin team provides exceptional support, ensuring seamless operations and customer satisfaction. Meanwhile, our site team, comprising 4 talented females and 3 skilled males, brings expertise and dedication to every plumbing project. Together, we're a force to be reckoned with, united by our passion for delivering top-notch service and making a positive impact in our communities.

Share a little about your entrepreneurial journey. And, do you come from an entrepreneurial background?

My entrepreneurial journey has been deeply influenced by my upbringing. I come from a family of entrepreneurs, with my late father being a significant inspiration. He was a successful businessman who built a thriving enterprise constructing swimming pools and paving. Witnessing his dedication, perseverance, and passion for his work instilled in me the entrepreneurial spirit. His legacy continues to motivate me, and I'm proud to be following in his footsteps. As I navigate my own entrepreneurial journey, I draw on the valuable lessons I learned from my father. His influence has not only shaped my business acumen but also instilled in me the resilience and determination required to succeed as an entrepreneur.

What are your future plans and aspirations for your company?

As I look to the future, my vision for Daily Sambo Services is ambitious and clear: to become the leading company in Africa for water management solutions. I aspire to collaborate with like-minded organizations across the continent, sharing knowledge, expertise, and best practices to drive sustainable growth. Through strategic partnerships and innovative solutions, I aim to create economic opportunities, stimulate job creation, and contribute to the socio-economic development of African communities. Ultimately, my goal is to make a lasting impact on the lives of Africans, ensuring access to clean water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) for all, while promoting environmental sustainability and economic prosperity.

What gives you the most satisfaction being an entrepreneur?

As an entrepreneur, the most satisfying aspect is creating a positive impact on people's lives. For me, it's providing sustainable water solutions, empowering local communities, and promoting environmental sustainability, making a real difference in Africa and leaving a lasting legacy.

What's the biggest piece of advice you can give to other women looking to start-up?

My advice to women starting their entrepreneurial journey would be:

'Start where you are, with what you have, and do what you can.' Don't wait for perfection; take that first step.

Remember, every failure is not a setback, but a stepping stone to greatness. Learn from your mistakes, rise above them, and keep pushing forward.

Believe in yourself, your vision, and your abilities. You got this!
