In South Africa, many people still do not have access to clean and healthy water supplies each day. For entrepreneur Siwinile Khumalo, founder of Sucxeed Projects (Pty) Ltd, addressing this challenge was the inspiration for her business building journey. Today she is a water solutions and services provider, changing lives and communities.

Founder Siwinile Khumalo is currently showcasing her business, Sucxeed Projects (Pty) Ltd, at the Absa Lionesses Xpo. She shares her entrepreneurial journey to date and her future aspirations to harness the power of green technology to further grow her business and impact.

Tell us about yourself

My name is Siwinile Khumalo and I am a Civil Engineering Technician by profession with 10 years of experience. I am also a founder and managing director of a company called Sucxeed Projects, and our company has 3 years’ experience of supplying bottled Atmospheric Alkaline Drinking Water. My vision for Sucxeed Projects is to ensure that every living being in South Africa, and Africa as a whole, can have access to clean and healthy drinking water.

“… if you have a dream, don't ever let anyone or anything stop you from achieving it, because I believe that if God gives us dreams, then He will surely make a way for the dream to come to pass.”

What does your company do?

Sucxeed Projects currently supplies bottled Atmospheric Alkaline Drinking Water which is harvested from the air that we breathe. We also offer other water solutions and services.

What inspired you to start your company?

During my career years as a Civil Engineering Technician, I got to experience and witness the challenges experienced by communities due to the lack of accessing clean and healthy drinking water in rural areas. Because I have a belief that I was born for a purpose and to make an impact, I decided to establish a company that will supply water and provide water solutions, assisting with the dire need for clean and healthy drinking water which is a global challenge.

Why should anyone use your service or product?

Our water is harvested from the air that we breathe which makes it healthier as we already practically live and breathe this air that creates the supply of water for drinking. Our water is also alkaline making it even healthier for one's everyday consumption as it not only helps to balance the body’s Ph but also has a lot more health benefits.

Tell us a little about your team

Our company is a very small, black female-owned, startup company which is managed by a passionate, dynamic, driven Civil Engineering Technician who has up to 10 years of experience.

Share a little about your entrepreneurial journey. And do you come from an entrepreneurial background?

I think my journey has been the longest and hardest as I don't have an entrepreneurial background and I unfortunately lacked a mentor for that proper guidance which I believe would have added so much value for me and the businesses development.

What are your future plans and aspirations for your company?

I want our company to be the top manufacturer, distributor and supplier of water through Green Technologies. I would also like to see our company becoming the best water consultant that will provide effective water solutions and services, ensuring that every living being has access to safe drinking water.

What gives you the most satisfaction being an entrepreneur?

The satisfaction comes from knowing that I have started my own business and that I can drive and pursue it in a way that will drastically impact and positively change people's lives for the better while giving them hope.

What's the biggest piece of advice you can give to other women looking to start-up?

My advice is that if you have a dream, don't ever let anyone or anything stop you from achieving it, because I believe that if God gives us dreams, then He will surely make a way for the dream to come to pass.
