Lioness Weekender spoke to the inspirational Rym Bedoui Ayari to learn more about what drives her as an entrepreneur, and her aspirations for the future of her business.

When did your start your business?

I started the consulting business in 1999. The deep dive into franchising began about 15 years ago.

What does your company do?

WeFranchiz is a dynamic platform that connects franchise owners with aspiring entrepreneurs, creating opportunities for individuals to own and operate proven business models. We aim to democratize access to franchising by making it simpler, more accessible, and tailored to regional markets, particularly in Africa and the Middle East. Beyond matchmaking, we provide education, mentorship, and tools to support both franchisees and franchisors, fostering an ecosystem that promotes sustainable entrepreneurship and regional economic growth.

What inspired you to start your company?

The inspiration for WeFranchiz came from observing the untapped potential of franchising as a tool for economic empowerment in regions like Africa. I saw countless entrepreneurs with the drive and talent to succeed but lacking access to scalable opportunities and proven systems. Franchising offers a unique way to mitigate the risks of starting a business while benefiting from established brands and operational support. I wanted to create a platform that connects people to these opportunities but also empowers local entrepreneurs who are capable of creating local concepts.

What makes your business, service or product special?

WeFranchiz is unique because it is more than just a platform—it’s a movement. We bridge the gap between global franchise brands and aspiring entrepreneurs, especially those in underserved markets. What sets us apart is our commitment to inclusivity, innovation, and impact. We tailor solutions to the specific needs of our users, provide educational resources, and ensure that our platform fosters long-term success for all stakeholders. WeFranchiz doesn’t just connect people to opportunities; we build communities. Wefranchiz at 360° builds the ecosystem in Tunisia through our tools such as the annual barometer, the Tunisia Franchise Show, our own radio show, and multiple forms of communications in the digital media, the net, and audiovisual.

Tell us a little about your team

We all come from diverse backgrounds, bringing expertise in technology, business development, marketing, and franchising (me). This diversity allows us to approach challenges creatively and deliver innovative solutions, especially in the new digital era.

Share a little about your entrepreneurial journey. And, do you come from an entrepreneurial background?

My entrepreneurial journey has been one of growth, learning, and especially resilience. I don’t come from a family of entrepreneurs (my father had a long career as a government official), but I’ve always been drawn to the idea of having my own business. Over the years, I’ve been involved in various sectors including consulting, trading, and industry, each teaching me invaluable lessons about life. Founding WeFranchiz was a culmination of this journey—a way to channel my passion for entrepreneurship into something that helps my community.

What are your future plans and aspirations for your company?

I envision WeFranchiz becoming the leading franchise marketplace in Africa and the Middle East, connecting thousands of entrepreneurs with the right opportunities. In the long term, I want to expand globally and create a platform that facilitates franchising and shapes how businesses grow sustainably. I aspire for WeFranchiz to become synonymous with innovation and empowerment in franchising, transforming regional economies and impacting communities worldwide.

What gives you the most satisfaction being an entrepreneur?

For me, the greatest satisfaction comes from seeing the tangible impact of my work. Watching someone use WeFranchiz to start a business fills me with pride and purpose.. Knowing that my efforts contribute to building a better future for individuals and communities is incredibly fulfilling.

What's the biggest piece of advice you can give to other women looking to start-up?

To all the women out there dreaming of starting their own business: trust yourself and take that first step. The journey will not be easy, but it will be worth it. Surround yourself with people who believe in your vision and seek mentors who can guide you. Don’t be afraid to ask for help or to fail—and most importantly, believe in your potential... don't let anyone bring you down!
