“Indico Fish Farm combines traditional aquaculture practices with modern technologies to optimize fish growth, ensure water quality, and minimize environmental impact.”

What does your company do?

Indico Fish Farm is an aquaculture company in Mozambique. Specializing in fish farming, the company focuses on the sustainable production of Nile Tilapia, targeting both the local and international markets. Indico Fish Farm combines traditional aquaculture practices with modern technologies to optimize fish growth, ensure water quality, and minimize environmental impact. In addition, the company may be involved in research and development projects to improve its farming practices and expand its product offering.

What inspired you to start your company?

Indico Fish Farm was created to solve the following problems:

- Availability of high-quality fish to meet population demand, even during the fishing season;

- Creation of jobs for young people;

- Uses sustainable practices that help minimize pollution and excessive use of natural resources.

- Disponibilidade de peixe de alta qualidade para suprir a demanda populacional, mesmo na epoca de veda;
-Criacao de postos de trabalho para jovens;

Why should anyone use your service or product?

The value proposition of the tilapia production and processing project aims to promote access to the product for low-income people, contributing to a healthier and more nutritious diet, considering the benefits of fish for human health. In addition, it seeks to ensure fish consumption during the closed season (November to March), significantly reduce prices and increase the purchasing power of less favored communities.

The project also aims to create employment and income opportunities for the disadvantaged community, especially for young women with domestic responsibilities. In this way, it not only positively impacts food and the local economy, but also promotes social inclusion and sustainable development in the region.

However, it is worth noting that this activity will also focus on selling products to demanding and more profitable markets, which will make the project more financially sustainable while always guaranteeing access to the product for the disadvantaged community at the local level.
