LIONESS LAUNCH / South Africa’s House of Cinnamon launches its Autumn/Winter 2020 collection

This month in South Africa sees the proudly Afro-European accessory brand, House of Cinnamon, launching its exciting new Autumn/Winter 2020 collection. Inspired by enduring classics, the House of Cinnamon AW20 collection brings together classic and iconic pieces that will carry its customers through the seasons. The new collection features limited edition items that have been carefully designed with uncompromising attention to detail.

House of Cinnamon is a proudly Afro-European accessory brand created by entrepreneur Frances Edwards that offers a limited range of luxury handcrafted footwear and accessories. The exclusive collection of distinctive Cinnamon Shoes is made in Cape Town by hand, with meticulous care and uncompromising attention to quality and detail. In partnership with local South African entrepreneurs, House of Cinnamon offers versatile wardrobe classics with contemporary nuances and timelessly chic staples of enduring value.

Speaking about what makes the new House of Cinnamon AW20 collection so special, founder Frances Edwards says, “In our efforts to move away from fleeting trends, mass production and throw-away fashion, we bring you a minimalist collection of hand-crafted high quality chic staples.”

The House of Cinnamon AW20 range includes the classic ballet flat, one of the most timeless shoe styles. Elegant loafers and stylish brogues, top wardrobe staples in luxurious velvets and animal print; and traditional ankle and cowboy boots. Frances suggests pairing House of Cinnamon’s footwear with a tailored blazer and a limited edition chunky necklace.

Talking about her aspirations for the new collection, Frances adds, “The passing of the seasons reminds us of our ability to change and open ourselves to new opportunities and perceptions. The chance to reflect, take stock and transform. An incentive to assess our lifestyles and habits and to align them more closely with our deeply-held values and beliefs around sustainability and longer-term worth. We invite you to become a more conscious shopper and invest in House of Cinnamon's timeless pieces of enduring value that will carry you through this and future seasons.”

The new House of Cinnamon AW20 collection is available online. Delivery will take place as soon as the lockdown is lifted. In normal circumstances, customers can also visit the company’s studio in Parktown, Johannesburg, by appointment.

Frances says about the decision to launch the new collection this month, “We are excited to launch this new collection during this time. Although this is a very difficult and anxious time we hope that this collection will be appreciated as much now as it will be in the following months. On a spiritual level I feel like this virus is an equalizer. We are all in this together and now is the time to support one another. We believe in a collaborative energy and would love to hear from our fellow lionesses.”
