LIONESS LAUNCH: New Pregnancy App and Mobile Solution launched for African women

August 18, 2019 Melanie Hawken

Jacqueline Rogers, founder of My Pregnancy Journey (South Africa)

This month sees successful South African serial entrepreneur, Jacqueline Rogers, launching a new educational pregnancy app and mobile solution, My Pregnancy Journey, for Africa’s women.

According to STATSA, 1 million babies are born in South Africa every year alone. According to Unicef, by 2050 a quarter of the world’s population will be African, yet this sector of African pregnancies are currently being overlooked. Entrepreneur Jacqueline Rogers has identified a huge gap to supply valuable information that is focused on the continent and its unique challenges. My Pregnancy Journey as a business concept is an educational pregnancy App and mobile solution for South Africa and the rest of Africa’s women.

With technology growing at a faster rate than ever and becoming the way of life, the accessibility of phones and information via mobile is becoming a reality for people all across Africa. The My Pregnancy Journey app solution brings pregnancy and technology together. This new mobile application allows for mass communication and can reach everyone, anywhere. Jacqueline’s aim through the app is to influence and support African moms in a positive way and also guide them on a range of other relevant topics such as contraception information, parenting tips, education, health, and so much more.

Speaking about the My Pregnancy Journey app, Jacqueline says:

“Africa has the highest rate in adolescent pregnancies, HIV infections and birth deaths due to a lack of information, a factor that affects the health, education and earning potential of millions of African girls. The only other pregnancy apps available are all internationally based apps and none of them are focused on Africa or any other third world countries. They only focus on first world issues, whereas we are targeting specifically third world issues. The internationally based apps are not linked to our needs, medication, hospitals, products, metric systems, services and languages. With My Pregnancy Journey, we have created a relevant, informative, feminine, beautiful looking and easy to use app. We are giving our moms information on everything pregnancy from A-Z.”

My Pregnancy Journey’s aim is to reach as many pregnant women as possible; and to positively impact as many lives as possible. This mobile solution also targets some of the Sustainable Development Goals set out by the UN in 2015 to be achieved by 2030.

The My Pregnancy Journey app will be available on app stores, Google Play Store and the Apple iStore.

My Pregnancy Journey founder, Jacqueline Rogers, says:

“We want to change Africa one Pregnancy at a time’'
