Invest in networking, it’s good for business

Are you one of those people who can comfortably walk into any room full of strangers and immediately start networking? But it can be easier to be a good networker with a mindshift, some good planning, and a good dose of old fashioned gumption. So, here are a few tips to move your networking into top gear. Secondly, plan your opening greeting and first few questions in advance, then you won’t struggle for conversation starters. Thirdly, remember to show real interest in the people you are speaking to, engage in eye contact, and ask questions. Fourthly, look to give value in your interactions, people will engage better with you that way. Fifthly, make sure you are attending the right events that will have the type of people you are interested in speaking to. Finally, have your short but powerful elevator pitch ready for those moments when people ask you what you do. And remember, have your business cards at the ready.
