“The fabric represents a canvas where we deposit all our inspiration and identity. This is a way of combining the art of design with fashion.”

What inspired you to start your company?

- I like fashion

- I like fabrics

- I like art and drawings

The fabric represents a canvas where we deposit all our inspiration and identity. This is a way of combining the art of design with fashion.

Why should anyone use your service or product?

Textile printing design is a new concept for the Mozambican market, it is an alternative sector to the final fashion product. Customers looking for alternative fabrics come to our company to customize the prints on their fabrics, with the aim of making their final product more original.

Tell us a little about your team:

At the moment, we have 3 junior designers: two graphic designers and a fashion designer. This combination allows us to explore the various areas of design in which we work and as the main focus is print and fashion design, we have the necessary tools to explore everything from product design to company communication.

Being a new area, hiring junior designers was the best option because they are still fresh and have the ability to adapt to this new business concept and their fresh and current ideas. It's been a good experience.

Share a little about your entrepreneurial journey. And do you come from an entrepreneurial background?

From an early age, I had the opportunity to manage businesses, work as a freelancer and I come from families with experience in own business. Independence and autonomy have always been strong characteristics in my personality, which allows me to take on new challenges.

Companies where I worked included: Infosys, Sekuela, Medialab, EasySoftware (Portugal), Mayet Dental Office, Sum, Caetsu (Portugal), Brand Lovers, Spot

Empresas onde trabalhei: Infosys, Sekuela, Medialab, EasySoftware (Portugal), Consultório Dentário Mayet, Soma, Caetsu (Portugal), Brand Lovers, Spot

What are your future plans and aspirations for your company?

I would like to be inspired by the concept of Inditex Industry (European group responsible for the most famous clothing brands in the world such as Zara, Bershka, Stradivarius, etc.). I intend to expand the business not only into the textile area but also into the production of fashion items, thus giving anyone the opportunity to create their own fashion.

What gives you the most satisfaction being an entrepreneur?

As an entrepreneur, being able to explore my own ideas and vision, make my own decisions and initiatives, create new lines of work for new visionaries, certainly gives me the most satisfaction. Innovate is my word of inspiration.

What's the biggest piece of advice you can give to other women looking to start-up?

My advice is for everyone. Normally when someone chooses to open a business, they tend to invest in what apparently makes the most money but over time, the business declines. This happens because the entrepreneur looks for money and not for a passion.

My advice is to first fall in love with your business vision, that it is something that you love doing and that you imagine yourself doing for the rest of your life, even if you face challenges. A worker's life is much better when they live with love, passion, and ambition. It is much easier to dream and have a clear vision about the future.

Before opening your business, first fall in love with your business idea.
