Josephine Sidambe is a visionary, achiever, and change maker, and the founder of Ingqwele Consulting & Projects Managements Pty Ltd in South Africa which was launched in 2013. As a dynamic agent of change in the world of sustainability consulting, Josephine has continuously pushed the boundaries of continuous improvements. She has an insatiable passion for sustainable solutions and unwavering commitment to reducing the climate change impact. She has contributed to the reduction of carbon footprint in the sustainability consulting industry through leadership and motivation to adopt green sustainable projects. With 25 years of professional work experience, of which 7 years are in the field of sustainability consulting, Josephine has harnessed her expertise to drive transformative change. As a senior sustainability consultant in the business, she leads with vision and tuning challenges into opportunities.

Josephine has been recognized for her impact driven work and business success by numerous organisations including: WeConnect International Business Network in 2019; she was awarded the Pareto Top Performing Business Award for 2022; and was recognized by Rotary International Club for championing the environmental projects to save the planet in 2021. Josephine is also a Director of Earthly Touch Foundation, a non-profit organisation which focuses on green projects to reduce the negative impact on the environment. As a highly experienced and qualified professional in her field, Josephine has a BSc Honours Degree in Applied Mathematics; Postgraduate Diploma in Information Management; Energy Management Systems Expert and Trainer; Energy Systems Optimisation Expert and Trainer; Resource Efficiency (RECP) Management Expert and Trainer; and Certified Supply Chain Professional

Lioness Weekender spoke to founder Josephine Sidambe about her vision for the business, her entrepreneurial journey to date, and her personal mission in business and in life.

What inspired you to start your company?

To achieve a Work-Life balance and offer a business service offering as an independent consultant which I am passionate about.

Tell us a little about your team:

Our team has vast experience in sustainability consulting and has expertise in energy management systems implementation, systems optimization, and training.

Share a little about your entrepreneurial journey. And do you come from an entrepreneurial background?

I do not come from an entrepreneurial background; however, I have been inspired by other women to run my own business and it has also given me and my family a Work-Life balance and the opportunity to create employment for others.

What are your future plans and aspirations for your company?

To be a preferred sustainability strategic partner locally in South Africa and globally.

What gives you the most satisfaction being an entrepreneur?

The satisfaction of bringing solutions to the client and making a positive impact to both its business and environment motivates me, and building a successful business that leads to financial independence and creating wealth for my family.

What's the biggest piece of advice you can give to other women looking to start-up?

Build a Network. Connect with other women entrepreneurs, mentors, and business support organizations. Building a network of like-minded individuals can provide valuable guidance and emotional support.
