The Key Leadership Qualities It Takes to Be a Boss, A Woman Entrepreneur in Business Today by Judith Baker

Judith Baker

Book Review

Starting a business and running one is challenging. What do you do first? What should you pay attention to? What tools are there to help the modern woman entrepreneur? In her new book, The Key Leadership Qualities It Takes to Be a Boss, A Woman Entrepreneur in Business Today, Judith Baker brings you all the insights you need.

Whatever dream you are ready to bring to life or have already birthed, Judith Baker’s new book The Key Leadership Qualities It Takes to Be a Boss, will serve as a fountain of wisdom and knowledge to help you withstand the challenging stages of business as an entrepreneur. Find comfort from its pages and from an author that knows you are not the only one who has questioned your entire sanity, decision making capabilities and self-worth as a woman, while following your passion, a dream many people in your life may not buy into or at least, not yet understand.

This book, the first in its series, is aimed at women who are asking questions. Inside you will find solutions to the problems women who are entrepreneurs encounter. Have you been asking questions such as…

  • How do I break down the barriers?

  • Do I have the right mindset to run my own business?

  • How can I make it as an Entrepreneur?

  • How can I improve my leadership style to benefit my business?

  • Who has been there, and done that as a woman and how can I learn from her?

This book will help you kick start your business by answering these questions with examples, concepts and best practices that the author had to learn on her own.

Although female leadership on the scale we know it today is still growing, there have been examples of women in leadership all throughout history. Women have led nations, founded religious organizations, built businesses, and led social movements. And, for most of history, they have done so against incredible odds. By examining their leadership and identifying where you are strong and where you need to improve, this book is designed to give you insight into the leadership mindset needed to stay the course and rock your business.

For most women, starting the business seems like the hardest part of the process. So many of them get caught up in brainstorming, they get stuck in a procrastination phase. They are filled with doubts and frustrations just thinking of ideas ... what is my logo going to look like ... what if I can’t do it, etc. Reading this book will provide you with tools to shift this mindset today!

This book is written in a simple, short, format that is easy to read and easy to understand. You will learn from the women of the past that lead and opened doors for today’s leading ladies. Just like they did, you will learn and be provided with tools to embrace the mindset needed to lead your entrepreneurial business like a boss.

Author quotes

I want you to find comfort in knowing that you are not the only one who has questioned your entire sanity, decision-making capabilities and self-worth as a woman, while following your passion, a dream many people in your life may not buy into or at least, not yet understand.

I enjoy helping others, and that is honestly my primary reason for writing this book - helping other women who are entrepreneurial spirits like me, is very exhilarating.

In business, we need to prepare and plan for overcoming hurdles. Unlike a race, being successful in business can be about collaboration rather than competition. There is enough market for anyone willing to put the effort into their dream.

Why LoA loves it….

One of the toughest decisions you make on this crazy entrepreneurial journey is deciding in the first place to take the leap of faith and start your business. It is scary, daunting, exhilarating, all at the same time. But many women take such a decision without a safety net, without the support of a community of like-minded women who have been there before, who have got the T-shirt and successfully overcome the hurdles to realize their business dreams. This book is a great read for those just starting out on the journey, and helps to build the right mindset to become the boss of your own business. — Melanie Hawken, founder & ceo of Lionesses of Africa
