Everyone wants immediate and effortless success, but as I started the entrepreneurial journey I realized that some actions needed to take place. I actually had to have a plan to reach where I wanted to be, by setting goals. More than planning to win, I had to understand how badly I wanted my dreams to come true. Also, to understand if I was ready to own a business, because it isn’t just about the money a business can bring to my life, but how driven I am to take action to make it a reality. To be a successful business owner, I have to both serve a higher purpose that is valuable for people, and at the same time, make money, because the more I serve, the more successful I become.
I learnt that there are two types of people when it comes to starting a business - those who try and those who get it done. People who try start a business hoping that things will succeed, and most of the times they quit as soon as they face the first challenge, especially when things don’t go as expected. But people who get it done, start a business knowing that they will succeed, regardless of the challenges they face.
Many set their goals in the most perfect way but save for later on instead of taking action towards them. Avoiding duties and giving excuses seems to be easier than understanding priorities and getting things done. “I will do it tomorrow” or “let me wait for the perfect time” are speeches used by many and implemented by those who like the comfort zone.
Most people tend to underestimate the time, the experience, the amount of money, energy and focus you have to put in the business to get the engines started and build a successful endeavor. The thing is we all want to get rich very quickly; we want to see the money immediately and have a successful business, but we are not willing to invest the time and acquired skills.
The perfect time is now. Start now, and allow things to flow as you go.
